Should I Visit My Osteo?

Our bodies have an amazing ability to heal themselves. So when pain strikes, how do you know whether to visit your osteo or let your body settle by itself?

An acute sprain of a spinal (facet) joint is usually very sore and inflamed for 2-3 days before settling on its own within 2 weeks. If your pain has not started to settle after 2-3 days, make an appointment with your osteo to get the injury assessed. If it has begun to settle but is still quite uncomfortable, a treatment can certainly ease that discomfort and allow you to resume normal activities faster than leaving it to settle on its own.

If you are still unsure what the right course of action is, give us a call at Healing Hands Osteopathy and chat with our osteos today!
