What Is Women’s & Pelvic Health Osteopathy?
Women’s and pelvic health osteopathy is gentle, hands-on care for the physical changes and challenges women face through pregnancy, birth, recovery and beyond. It looks at how your pelvis, pelvic floor, back, hips, abdomen and chest work together, then builds a treatment plan around you.
Our women’s health osteopath, Dr Stephania Tsotras, offers compassionate, evidence-based care for every stage of womanhood. Whether you are pregnant, preparing for birth, recovering after a baby, or living with pelvic pain or bladder concerns, you can talk openly about what is going on.
Some of these topics can feel personal. Your appointment is unhurried, everything is explained clearly, and you stay in control. Internal assessment or treatment is only ever done when it is clinically appropriate and with your consent.
Who Can Benefit From Women’s & Pelvic Health Osteopathy?
Our women’s health appointments are for women at many different stages of life. You might be pregnant and dealing with back, pelvic or hip pain, or preparing for labour and birth with your partner. You might be a new mum wanting a postnatal check, or you may have had your baby months or even years ago and still have pelvic floor, scar or core concerns.
We also see women with bladder or bowel concerns, prolapse or pelvic pain, women with breast or chest discomfort after surgery or cancer treatment, and breastfeeding mums with mastitis or blocked milk ducts.

Women’s and pelvic health care with Healing Hands Osteopathy is evidence-based and tailored to your body and your goals. Along with relief from pain and discomfort, you receive clear education and practical guidance, so you feel confident and informed at every stage. Your comfort always comes first, and the approach is caring and respectful throughout.

It also suits women dealing with side effects of breast cancer treatment, oncology-related chest or breast symptoms, or reduced chest and shoulder mobility following treatment.
Treatment may focus on easing pain and tension, improving tissue mobility, supporting lymphatic drainage, and restoring chest and shoulder movement.

What Does Your Appointment Involve?
At Healing Hands Osteopathy, women’s and pelvic health care is gentle, respectful and guided by what you need and what you are comfortable with.
When you first arrive, Dr Stephania will talk with you about your history and your concerns. She will then explain what she recommends, including any assessment or treatment, before anything begins. Where it is clinically appropriate, an internal assessment or treatment may be suggested. This is only ever done with your consent, and you can ask questions or stop at any time.
Your care is individualised, so your plan may include osteopathic treatment, education, rehabilitation advice and guidance on your recovery, depending on your appointment type.
